I went and saw my niece this weekend in Columbus. It was fun. I also road all over Columbus on the IRO. I had a good time. I think there is only one other child on this planet I can tolerate, but that is another story. I bought my niece my her first Uncle John present, a Brutus Buckeye.

Saw home. Road the streets of Columbus. I actually had a pretty good time.

One thing, Westlake, Ohio, still sucks. Upper Arlington is awesome. Sorry all your Westlakers, I thought that place was lame in 1982 and still do now. Idiots.

Let’s list it out shall we?

1) The big break up with Carla. Not happy about it, but someone else will be much happier with someone who has the same plans as they do.

2) Tumor on right thigh press on the nerves leading to the knee. There are a couple possibilities as to what it is but nothing conclusive until I have surgery and get this thing out of my leg. Of course, I dont have insurance and it doesn’t look like I will be getting it any time soon. And even then? Insurance companies have this bullshit rule called “a preexisting condition”. So, this thing may be in me for some time. It has me a bit annoyed as I want to do one more season of racing and if I was to have surgery it would have to be before January so I can get on the training plan I am working on.

3) It’s cold and wet and so begins my LAST winter in Chicago. It is time to go. I would prefer to live some place where I can all year and not have to layer up five times to do so. I am looking at San Diego. Ocean. Velodrome. Mountains and no snow. Of course some place out of the United States would be fantastic, but I don’t think that is going to happen unless I get a new job offer from Australia again, which, if that comes my way again? I am out of here.

Those are the three big ones at the moment. Taking Sean out for cocktails later for his Chicago based “bachelor” party.

I am trying to adjust some behaviors and all to live a healthier life. We will see how that goes. Otherwise, I am digging out the winter wear and dreading every second of it.

I went to the season ender for Thursday’s at the Major Taylor Velodrome and had a blast. Lara tagged along and Matt from Turin was there. It was a good time racing after three weeks off. Felt good and would be doing the two day event this weekend had I planned ahead better. And the final count is, racing with the CAT4s as a CAT3:

Race 58, 25.03 flying lap.
Race 59 no place, scratch race, bars came loose at the beginning had a rough start.
Race 60, 3rd place, points race.
Race 61, 6th, Miss n’ Out
Race 62, 6th place, points race.

And for my 2009 track season, fin.
