BOWIE, Md. — A man said he was shot with a BB pellet while riding his bike along the Bowie Town Center Trail.

The man was struck over the weekend on Old Collington Road.

He said a car approached him from behind and a passenger pulled out an automatic BB gun and opened fire.

The man said the BB is still lodged in his thigh because doctors said the pellet was too deep to remove.

The victim said he’s not the only one this has happened to on local bike paths. He said he wanted to share his story to warn others who use the trail.
